Full-Time Preteen Pastor

Department: Family Ministry
Location: Little Rock, AR

Position Summary:

The Preteen Pastor is responsible for leading and overseeing the Preteen Ministry, FiftySix. The ideal candidate will be strong relationally and spiritually with the ability to lead a team of volunteer leaders that help inspire, encourage, equip, and lead preteens while spreading the Gospel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Oversee all programming for FiftySix primarily at the West Little Rock Campus
• Serve as the primary teacher regularly in FiftySix
• Oversee the weekly environment setup for both small and large group FiftySix spaces
• Provide vision, guidance, and direction to FiftySix curriculum implementation and programming on all campuses
• Oversee and work alongside the part-time Preteen Worship Leader to plan Sunday morning worship services and develop a volunteer worship team
• Ensure an excellent, safe, and secure environment for preteens and leaders on Sunday mornings
• Serve as primary Pastor to preteen students and their families, building relationships through discipleship meetings, attending school events or outside programs, lunches, and providing pastoral care and support during difficult moments and key faith conversations (baptism meetings, salvation and calling discernment, etc.)
• Communicate with FiftySix parents regularly to provide discipleship material, resources, and important information regarding ministry updates
• Recruit, train, and encourage leaders for Preteen Ministry, including the roles of small group leader, teacher, production support, greeter, and administrative support
• Establish and nurture relationships with leaders through lunches, phone calls, emails, cards, appreciation gifts, etc.
• Provide on-going training for small group leaders through regular gatherings to discuss upcoming lessons, events, or small group needs
• Communicate directly with West Little Rock FiftySix leaders on a weekly basis to distribute lessons, announcements, devotional material, and other training resources
• Regularly provide curriculum, devotional, and training resources to Fellowship Kids staff all campuses
• Plan and implement special events for FiftySix throughout the school year and summer

Current Events:

  • Fall Retreat - off-site, one-night, overnight retreat for preteens for all campuses
  • Best Night Ever - on-site worship and fun night for preteens at all campuses
  • Summer Hangouts – West Little Rock only, grade or gender specific
  • FiftySix Preview – West Little Rock only, for 4th graders moving into FiftySix

• Serve on Sunday mornings on the West Little Rock campus as a staff representative and assist in Sunday morning tasks (guest assignments, leader placement, and emergency situations)
• Manage preteen small group attendance rosters and database as it pertains specifically to FiftySix (group assignments, contact updates, special instructions, etc.)
• Assist with Fellowship Kids special events and training events as assigned
• Attend weekly Fellowship Kids Staff and monthly West Little Rock Campus Staff and All Church Staff meetings
• Attend Sunday worship regularly
• Serve as Pastor on Call on a rotational schedule
• Assist with Fellowship Kids special events and training
• Other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Education and Experience:

• College Education required; Seminary/Masters a bonus.
• 2-3 years ministry experience leading a team of volunteers (volunteer, internship, and/or residency experience considered)

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and creating flyers on Canva
• A heart for the discipleship of preteens and parents at Fellowship
• Excellent organizational skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to organize for Sunday services
• Relational with staff, campuses, parents, and preteens
• Ability to solve problems quickly and be flexible in thought process
• Work with other Fellowship campuses and staff to maintain Preteen Ministry on all campuses as needed

• Handle confidential information in a Christ like and professional manner
• A heart to serve the Lord and grow his Kingdom
• If not a member of Fellowship Bible Church, will commit to going through the membership process
• Regular involvement in Fellowship Bible Church activities and events
• Signed acknowledgement of Fellowship Bible Church’s “Confession of Faith” form
• Signed acknowledgement to policies and procedures as stated in Fellowship Bible Church’s Employee Manual
• Living out the spiritual principles outlined in the “Code of Conduct”

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Work Schedule:

• 40-45 hours per week
